Arsenal drops point at Southampton despite an early lead

Failing to hold on Granit Xhaka's 11th-minute opener, Arsenal dropped two precious points in an eventful evening at Saint Mary.

After Manchester City's 3-1 win over Brighton, Arsenal failed to continue their 4-point advantage at top of the table as they settled on a draw against Sputhampton.

Granit Xhaka's fine right-footed strike opened the scoresheet for the Gunners, however, they failed to hold on their advantage as Stuart Armstrong scored the equalizer in the 65th-minute for the Saints despite Arsenal's early dominance.

The result keeps Arsenal at top of the Premier League table, however, their difference to the second-placed Manchester City is now 2 points.
