Real Madrid's Reinier claims he "lost two years" at Dortmund

Establishing himself among the key players at Girona this season, Reinier hit out at Dortmund for not providing him promised game time throughout his loan spell.

Reinier

spent the last two seasons on loan at

Borussia Dortmund

and has played a total of just 741 minutes for his team while contributing one goal and an assist. After returning to

Real Madrid

this summer, the 20-year-old midfielder was sent out to La Liga side

Girona

on loan as he has established himself among the Catalan club's regulars

However, the

Brazilian

claims the two-year loan spell at Dortmund was a waste of time for him as he only played an average of 19 minutes in the 39 games.

He told the Brazilian podcast

Gringolandia

:<em>

"I just wanted to get out of there. I did my part, I trained, I went home and I was there every day. I always arrived on time. I respected all the people who worked at the club. I have a clear conscience."

Reinier joined Real Madrid from

Flamengo

for a €30 million fee in 2020 as he appeared in three Segunda División B games and scored two goals before the season was interrupted in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Showing great potentials, the Brazilian was sent out on loan to Dortmund to experience first-team game-time which the German club failed to provide him.
