UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin, completely rejected the rumors regarding holding the
Champions Leaguefinal outside of Europe.
In recent weeks, there have been rumors about holding the Champions League final in United States, China and the Middle East. It was said that Uefa is planning to go beyond its boundaries and hold the Champions League final outside of Europe for more revenue and marketing issues. This rumor faced a strong reaction from the fans of the European teams and many criticisms were made to it. This is while the format of holding competitions is going to change from 2024 and the format of the league will replace it. However, Ceferin completely rejected holding meetings outside of Europe.
He said:
"With all due respect to the media, it is impossible to imagine what kind of news can get out there. We never discussed this.
"But suddenly we can read in certain media that this will happen, although this was never mentioned. Go and ask UEFA directly.
"I would be in the know if there were any discussions about playing Champions League games outside Europe, and I do not know anything about it."
