Capello believes England are a better team in the middle of the season

Fabio Capello, who used to coach England, said that the Three Lions are better during the club season than in the summer.

After leading the Three Lions to the round of 16 at the 2010 World Cup in

South Africa

,

Fabio Capello

may not be remembered warmly by English fans. The coach is optimistic about the team's chances at the 2022 competition.

“I’m really interested to see who comes out on top at the World Cup in Qatar,"

the 76-year-old told Sky Sports.

"As a former

England

coach when I coached the team in September, October and November, we were ready to face the best sides in the world. In March and April, it was so-so because the physical level was dropping and we then found it very tough in June."

"I want to test my theory that England are a great side in this period of the year, so besides having talented players and a top coach, can they be really competitive and win a major tournament such as the World Cup?”

It is widely believed that

Gareth Southgate

's team has a good chance of winning the

World Cup

this year. Countries considered strong contenders include Brazil,

France

, Argentina, and Spain. Over the next couple of weeks, Southgate and his squad will face their final major test before the World Cup. On September 23 and 26, England will play Italy and Germany in the Nations League.
