Nagelsmann: Our efficiency made the difference against Barcelona

Julian Nagelsmann’s side after victory against Barcelona is now at the top of the Champions League Group C after two matches.

Bayern Munich

beat

Barcelona

in an entertaining match with two goals in the Champions League at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night.

Lucas Hernandez and Leroy Sane were on the scoresheet for the German champions on the night of

Robert Lewandowski's

return to Allianz Arena. In the other match in Group C, Inter beat Victoria Plzen with two goals.

Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann after the game told reporters:

"In the first half, Barcelona had the better chances than us; our final ball wasn't quite there. It was much better in the second half, and our efficiency made the difference."

Sadio Mane who joined Bayern from Liverpool this summer has not scored for them in the Champions League but Nagelsmann said he is happy with his performance.

"He's played in a new position today that he hasn't played before in Liverpool. We're happy to have him. He will certainly make his mark on our game.”

Nagelsmann also revealed that Lucas Hernandez who scored the first goal got injured later in the game. He said:

"He felt something torn in the adductor area. He wasn't moving smoothly in the dressing room."

Hernandez reportedly is undergoing an MRI scan after the match and could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Dayot Upamecano also took a knock to his knee and limped out of the stadium but told reporters that his injury is not serious.
