Pickford sustains thigh injury for “powerful kicking”

Jordan Pickford has been sidelined because of his injury caused by his own kicking until after the international break.

Jordan Pickford

injured his thigh in

Everton

’s goalless draw with

Liverpool

last weekend, with the doctors worried that the injury is self-inflicted.

The shot-stopper kept a clean sheet and showed his amazing form during the match but he will now miss out on football until after the international break.

After the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, the football games were suspended this weekend. They may also be suspended next week as well. In other words, there may not be any games played before the international break in two weeks.

The doctors believe that the injury Pickford sustained might be from the 28-year-old’s powerful kicking abilities, as per reports from

The Sun

.

The England international is known for his impressive distribution, especially over a long range with the power he possesses.

He has been Gareth Southgate’s favorite for the World Cup and his injury has come at a frustrating time.

England will go against Italy and Germany at the end of the month, and Pickford will miss out on the matches. Other goalkeepers have a chance to show themselves, with Nick Pope, Dean Henderson and Aaron Ramsdale also shining this season.
