Lukaku to miss Milan derby

Inter will be without Romelu Lukaku for the Milan derby because of a thigh injury.

Romelu Lukaku

will be out for at least a week because of an injury to his thigh, Inter said. The Belgian forward hurt himself during a training session on Sunday. He will be checked again next week, but he will miss two important games for the Nerazzurri while he is out.

Lukaku will have to watch on Tuesday from the sidelines when

Cremonese

plays in Serie A. He will also miss this weekend's derby between Milan and the reigning champions.

The Chelsea loanee might also not be able to play when Inter's

Champions League

season starts against

Bayern Munich

next week. Inter's website said that Lukaku had hurt the flexor muscle in his left thigh and that his condition would be checked again next week.

There have been rumors in Italy that Lukaku could be out for up to 20 days. If this is true, he will miss games against Torino, Udinese, and Viktoria Plzen in the Serie A and the Champions League, respectively. Inter has won two of their first three league games, against Lecce and Spezia, but lost to Lazio on Friday.
