Marotta: Skriniar will stay and we are not scared of PSG’s threats

Inter director Beppe Marotta has revealed they will sign a center-back this summer.

and threats from

PSG

will not change their mind. Inter has turned down an offer of over €50m from PSG for Skriniar and Nasser Al-Khelaifi has hinted they might try to sign him as a free agent next summer.

“I can say that club owners made it very clear last week they do not want to get flattered by PSG offers,”

Marotta told DAZN.

“I can therefore confirm that Skriniar is a very important element of our team and as such will certainly remain with us.”

“He is a good lad, we will open a dialogue with him soon and this is a negotiation because we certainly want to sign a contract that can hold him to Inter for many years.

“I trust the man and his professionalism, I think this veiled threat is insufficient to damage the personal values that this player has.”

Marotta also confirmed they want to sign a center-back and their targets are Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi, Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah, and Manuel Akanji of Borussia Dortmund.

“We lack one element to complete the squad. There are several options and we are evaluating them before reaching a conclusion over the next few days.

“Acerbi was proposed to us, we will evaluate it.”
