Chelsea to launch a third offer for Leicester City's Wesley Fofana

The Blues have already seen two of their offers be rejected by Leicester City. However, with Fofana being Thomas Tuchel’s main target this summer, Chelsea will continue the chase with an improved offer.

Sky Sports

reports that Chelsea is preparing a third bid for

Wesley Fofana

. Their latest £60m offer was rejected by the Foxes last week as the Blues are considering other central-defensive targets if their approach for the 21-year-old defender fails.

Chelsea

has already seen their approaches for Manchester City's Nathan Ake and Sevilla's Jules Kounde fail, and Leicester City is reportedly confident of keeping Fofana as the French defender penned a five-year contract extension with the Foxes in March.

Chelsea has already signed

Kalidou Koulibaly

from Napoli, however, with the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, Thomas Tuchel eyes another centre-back added to his squad this summer.

Leicester City

's boss,

Brendan Rodgers

stated his club's position in the negotiations for Fofana in his post-match interview. He said:

"He’s not for sale. There is going to be interest in him, that’s the point. I had a long chat with him the other day. When you are as talented as he is there’s going to be lots of speculation, but he’s not for sale.

"I’ve got no doubts that in future he’ll play on the highest stage but he feels good here and he’s very comfortable with his teammates.

"When we signed him from Saint-Etienne (in 2020) he had played only 26 games at senior level. Everyone had a look at him back then but he came here and flourished. He was happy to sign a new five-year deal in March.”
