Official: Lazio have signed Matias Vecino on a free transfer

Matias Vecino has signed a three-year contract with Lazio after leaving Inter.

has put pen to paper on a three-year contract with the Italian club.

The midfielder will turn 31 later this month and has been with Inter since he was sold to the club for €24 million in the summer of 2017, shortly after leaving

Fiorentina

.

Before that, the Uruguayan international player had spent the majority of his career in Italy. He began playing for Fiorentina in January 2013, after having previously spent time on loan at

Cagliari

and Empoli.

The first time Vecino collaborated with coach Maurizio Sarri was during Empoli's 2014–15 campaign. The two are now back together at the Stadio Olimpico, where they were previously employed.

A statement published on the official website of Lazio revealed that Vecino had signed a contract for three years. During the previous campaign, he wore the Inter uniform in 23 competitive matches and contributed one goal in Serie A. It has been confirmed by the Biancocelesti that Vecino will begin full training with the rest of his new teammates beginning on Wednesday.
