Haaland: Guardiola is a little crazy, so it should be fun

Erling Haaland scored in his first game for Manchester City, which was against Bayern Munich in Green Bay, Wisconsin, when he was only 12 minutes old.

After he scored his first goal for

Manchester City

,

Erling Haaland

said, "It's going to be fun" to work with

Pep Guardiola

. Haaland scored the game's only goal, and City beat

Bayern Munich

1-0 at Green Bay's Lambeau Field on Saturday.

Even though it was storming during the friendly, the former

Borussia Dortmund

striker still scored in the 12th minute by tapping in a cross from Jack Grealish.

Haaland said after the win, "As you probably all know, I've been watching a lot of City games in the last few years, and in the last few years, City has been without a striker, so of course, I'm not surprised to be in this position today."

During his two and a half years at Dortmund, the Norwegian scored 86 goals in 89 games. Only

Robert Lewandowski

(123 goals in 108 games) and Kylian Mbappe (93 goals in 111 games) from Europe's top five leagues scored more goals in that time. Haaland said this about his new manager: "Guardiola is a little bit crazy, which I like, so it should be fun. I can't say too much because it's only been a week, but I've been training well and I'm ready for what comes next."

Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish set up Haaland's first goal in the United States with some nice passes, and the 22-year-old is excited to play with the England international.

"It's good to be [Greek]. We need to improve, but this is a good link. I like the way he makes people feel, so I think it will be fun." Guardiola was happy to see his new number nine for the first time. After the game, he said, "He made a goal, which is a big deal. When these kinds of goals are scored in front of the goalie, he's always there.

"In the first few minutes, he needs more time and rhythm, but he's already had 45 minutes, which is good.

"We'll see how he handles his little aches and pains over the past few weeks. We have long weeks to get ready for every weekend game after we get back. We'll be in the best shape in those two or three weeks."
