Nagelsmann praised Mane & de Ligt after DC United win

Bayern's two new signings managed to score in their first match for the team.

Bayern Munich

manager Julian Nagelsmann praised

Matthijs de Ligt

and

Sadio Mane

after they scored in their debut match in a 6-2 win over DC United.

De Ligt scored a volley in less than two minutes of his presence on the field, and Mane also scored his team's first goal from the penalty spot early in the game. The Dutch defender was on the field for 25 minutes until Nagelsmann replaced him for fear of injury. Mane, who joined Bayern from Liverpool last month, also set up a goal for Serge Gnabry, and after the game, Nagelsmann praised his team's new signings.

The German said:

"Both players have made a good start.

"Matthijs scored a brilliant goal with his left foot. I saw his impressive passing with his left foot in training today, and now this brilliant finish as well."

Asked about de Ligt substitution, Nagelsmann said:

"He's not got an injury, nothing unusual happened. I think he'll be fit again tomorrow and will be able to play on Saturday."
