De Ligt transfer was as easy as Mane's transfer - Kahn

The Dutch defender left Turin yesterday to continue his football in Germany.

Bayern Munich

CEO Oliver Kahn claimed that the transfer of

Matthijs de Ligt

from

Juventus

was done very quickly.

On Tuesday, Bayern Munich confirmed that the Dutch defender has moved from Serie A to the Bundesliga on a five-year deal. Regarded as one of the most promising defenders in the world, de Ligt played for Juve for three seasons, winning the Scudetto in his first season but finishing fourth in the league in the following two seasons.

He leaves for Bayern Munich, who have won the Bundesliga for the last 10 seasons, and now Kahn is confident that the new signing will meet Julian Nagelsmann's demands in defense.

The German said:

"If you look at the last two or three years, we've been very successful, but we've conceded one or two too many goals."

"De Ligt is big, strong in tackles, strong in the air, he has a good build-up game. He's someone who likes to lead and is loud," Kahn said, quoted widely by German media."

He also confirmed that the transfer was as easy as Sadio Mane's transfer. He said:

"It was the same with Matthijs de Ligt."
