Oliver Kahn: De Ligt wants to join Bayern Munich

Oliver Kahn has confirmed Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt wants to join Bayern Munich.

wanted to extend the

Matthijs de Ligt

but they could not reach an agreement with him and now is willing to sell the 22-year-old defender if they receive an offer for around  €90-100m. His contract will expire in 2024.

De Ligt joined Juventus from Ajax in 2019 for around €80 million. Since then has scored 8 goals in 117 matches. He has won one Serie A and one Coppa Italia with Juventus.

Chelsea was interested in signing the Dutch defender but he prefers to join

Bayern

and the English club decided to sign Kalidou Koulibaly instead. Bayern is serious about De Lift and is ready to spend huge money to sign him but so far they have not reached an agreement with Juventus.

"We had talks and the player wants to come to FC Bayern. We'll have more discussions and then see how it goes."

CEO Kahn told Blickpunkt Sport.

Bayern has offered Juventus a €60m bid and it is expected both clubs will come to an agreement in the coming days.

Bayern confirmed on Saturday they had reached an agreement for the sale of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona. They also announced that Serge Gnabry had penned a new deal.
