Mauricio Pochettino backed to succeed Guardiola as Man City manager

After being released by his French team, the Argentine will shortly hunt for a means to return to the sport.

Trevor Sinclair

has endorsed

Mauricio Pochettino

to succeed

Pep Guardiola

as

Manchester City

manager.

This summer, Pochettino was fired by

Paris Saint-Germain

following a disappointing season in which the club was eliminated from the Champions League in the round of 16.

Prior to this summer, the Argentine was considered a candidate to lead Manchester United, but the Red Devils decided to hire Erik ten Hag instead. Sinclair believes that Pochettino would be a suitable replacement for Guardiola and that he could continue his coaching career with Manchester United's blue side.

You can tell by looking at him that he is adept at managing egos. Sinclair stated on

TalkSport

that he seems to have a phenomenal rapport with players.

"It doesn't matter how large the players are, as he has managed Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar. In this regard, I believe he is in safe hands. He is a charming man, and I believe the media portrays him well. I believe that Manchester City may be the right club for him. I believe he may take a sabbatical now, as I am certain he is not struggling financially."

"However, I believe Manchester City could be the right fit for him. If Guardiola leaves at a certain point, Pochettino may be able to assume his position. Guardiola's current City contract expires at the conclusion of the 2022-23 season.

The coach will have been with the club for seven years by the time his contract expires, and in August of last year he indicated he would not commit to an extension.
