Bayern Munich chief executive Oliver Kahn rules out move for Ronaldo

Bayern Munich chief executive Oliver Kahn says they have no plans to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo

reportedly has told

Manchester United

that he wants to leave the club just after one year after his return. The 37-year-old wants to play Champions League football and has requested Manchester United allow him to leave should they receive a satisfactory offer this summer.

He has been linked with Chelsea, Napoli, and

Bayern Munich

but Oliver Kahn insists Ronaldo will not join the German champions even if Robert Lewandowski leaves the club.

"As much as I appreciate Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the greatest, a transfer would not fit into our philosophy," Kahn told Kicker.

Ronaldo who was United’s top goalscorer last season with 24 goals was scheduled to arrive at Carrington on Monday to begin pre-season training under Eric Ten Hag but he has missed training due to family reasons. It is not yet clear when the Portuguese star will return to training, but United's pre-season schedule will begin on Friday with trips to Thailand and Australia.

English press reports that United are not interested in selling the 5 Ballon d'Or winner but Ronaldo intends to join a club in the Champions League and his agent Jorge Mendes has discussed his transfer to Chelsea with their new owner Todd Boehly.
