Zoff backs Donnarumma and calls him Italy’s best goalkeeper
Notwithstanding a hard debut at the Ligue 1 side, the Italy legend insisted that the Italy international is the best shot-stopper of his national county: “He made us win the Euros.”

was not named a regular starter at
Paris Saint-Germainsince Mauricio Pochettino rotated him and Keylor Navas last season. The Italy international had highs and lows in the first season he had in Paris, for both club and country, but Dino Zoff still believes he is Italy’s best goalkeeper.
“Donnarumma is the highest expression of the goalkeeper’s role today, he made us win the Euros,”
he told Tg2 Post.
Zoff contributed to the 1982 World Cup victory, while Italy have not been able to be a part of on two editions in a row.
“We are out of the World Cup, but it was important to win the Euros,”
said Zoff.
“Not playing at the World Cup twice in a row is a huge blow, but today we absorb it better than during my times.”
The former
Milankeeper featured in 23 matches in his first season at PSG, with nine of them being clean sheets. His deal with the Ligue 1 side will keep him until 2026.
The star played conceded 265 goals in 251 matches with Milan. He had his Italy debut in 2016 and has been capped 46 times.
