Thiago not playing for Spain due to muscular injury

The Reds playmaker cannot play for Spain in the Nations League games because of his muscle problem.

Spain

will not have the assistance of

Thiago Alcantara

for their games in the Nations League.

He sustained an injury and

Liverpool

were concerned about him before their Champions League final on Saturday. However, they pronounced that he was fit to be in the starting XI and he featured for 77 minutes in their 1-0 loss at the hands of Real Madrid before Roberto Firmino replaced him.

However, the ex-Bayern Munich and

Barcelona

midfielder is not going to be able to feature for his country in the fixtures they have against Portugal, the Czech Republic and Switzerland. His muscular injury in his right leg is keeping him from being able to play.

Thiago will stay in Spain camp until after their battle against Portugal in Seville.

Luis Enrique is not going to ask for a replacement for the Spain International, who last appeared in the starting XI for his country in June 2021. He also played at Euro 2020 games four times, all coming from the bench.
