After beating ES Setif, Al Ahly skipper Mohamed El-Shenawy acknowledged his joy but advised his squad to stay focussed for the return match.

After a 4-0 win against

in the first leg of the semi-finals, the

advanced to the

final.

Al Ahly are on the verge of qualifying for the final for the third season in a row, thanks to goals from Taher Mohamed, Mohamed Sherif, and Percy Tau.

El-Shenawy hailed his colleagues after the win and credited the victory to the Al Salam Stadium supporters.

“We played a great game after long preparation,” the captain told beIN Sports.

“We know the value of the tournament and we want to make the fans proud by winning the title for the third time in a row.

“There are no excuses, even though we play a match every three days but the performance was good today after a week break.

“The team played brilliantly and they always shine in difficult games.

“It’s not over yet. We still have 90 minutes to play in Algeria and we need to be fully focused to reach the final,” he added.

Both teams will fight again in Algeria for the second leg of the semi-finals on Saturday at the 8 May 1945 Stadium.
