Mourinho not certain about being in charge of Roma in the ECL final

boss Jose Mourinho joked that even if he reached the Europa Conference League final, there is no guarantee he would be in charge in the final.

During his time at

, Mourinho reached the Carabao Cup final, but was sacked six days before his arrival at Wembley, with Ryan Mason taking charge and losing to City in the final. Now that Mourinho is in charge of Roma, he can reach the final with tonight's win against

, and the Portuguese coach joked about his history.

"If you win it gives you a right to play the final - if you are not sacked before the final,"

Mourinho laughed.

"It's not just the next match, it's a special match. It's been a long run for us, a different run than Leicester's, our run was the Europa Conference League since day one and day one was very, very difficult.

"So, 14 matches later we have the chance to play the final and we have to do anything we can."

The Portuguese added:

"What Leicester is doing is fantastic. Of course, what they did by winning the Premier League [in 2016] is amazing but after that the way the club grows at every level, arriving to now with one of the best training centres in Europe, the club is amazing.

"Brendan doesn't surprise me. With Liverpool, people forget what he did with much much less resources than what Liverpool has now. He did amazingly. And then the Scottish history [in his time at Celtic], people forget because people don't focus on the Scottish titles.

"Then to win the FA Cup with Leicester, even the Community Shield, the stability in the club and the way they played, it's a perfect feat with Leicester and Brendan. Very very good. But I hope tomorrow is for us and not for them."
