Ralf Rangnick sends message to fans: This is not the fall of Man Utd

The Red Devils are unlikely to qualify for the Champions League next season, but interim manager Jose Mourinho is confident they can recover.

Ralf Rangnick

,

Manchester United

's interim coach, argues that the club's poor form is not a warning of impending doom. The Red Devils are unlikely to win a title in the 2021-22 season, and will thus miss out on participation in the

Champions League

the following season.

Rangnick, on the other hand, is sure that the Old Trafford side will bounce back after a bad season, believing that the team has "huge potential. This season has clearly been a terrible one for everyone at the club, and I can tell how much everyone is feeling from the short time I've been here," he added "In advance of Monday's match against Brentford, he wrote in his program notes.

"We had some nice moments, but we never established enough positive momentum to allow our confidence to grow, and we were unable to save the season in the end."

"Let me be clear: this is not Manchester United's demise; it is a blip on the road, and when you blip, you must think swiftly and clearly to regain your balance so you can keep moving forward. That is where we are as a club, and if we act with clarity from now on, we can take some significant strides on the right path."

"As I've stated publicly, the actions that we as a club must do are very obvious. We've had a lot of internal discussions and know what has to be done. We need to be wise and decisive in our activities around the club, and we've started that process by appointing Erik ten Hag as our new manager.

He will join a terrific institution with excellent heritage and, most importantly, huge potential when he arrives from Ajax next month." United will travel to

Brighton

for their penultimate Premier League fixture of the season after their match against Brentford at Old Trafford. The campaign will conclude on May 22 with a visit to

Crystal Palace

.
