Ten Hag warned off Manchester United move by Dutch legend
Netherlands legend Marco Van Basten thinks Eric Ten Hag may have doubts about accepting Manchester United's offer after their 4-0 defeat against Liverpool on Tuesday.
According to the English press, Ajax boss Eric Ten Hag has agreed to a deal to replace Ralf Rangnick and become
Manchester United's new permanent manager this summer but Van Basten thinks his countryman has a big job on his hands at Old Trafford.
Van Basten told Ziggo Sport:
“The difference between
Liverpooland Manchester United is huge. They walk around like beaten people. This is one of the biggest clubs in England and not one of them really gets excited.
"Maguire passes the ball in the same way and thinks, ‘I don’t know, are you doing it? They are not thinking about solutions, it’s unbelievable.
“You have to start wondering if Manchester United might have doubts about Erik ten Hag or should Erik ten Hag have doubts about Manchester United? I think this is sad to see for such a big club.
“Wow. I hate to be negative about Manchester United but the fall from grace is unheralded.
“It’s never been seen before. It’s alarming but we’ve all seen it coming. A big, big rebuild needs to happen.”
United
currently sits sixth in the
Premier League. They have leaked 48 goals in 33 games this season. It’s their worst defensive run in 43 years.
