as "geniuses." The Brazilian also agreed with Mbappe that it's a "sad" the elite trio hasn't been able to play together more this season.

Messi had three assists in Barcelona's rout of Saint-Etienne on Saturday night, making him the first player in the French top flight to have three assists on two separate occasions since Opta data for the competition began in 2006-07. He had previously assisted three goals against Saint-Etienne in November.

During his first season in Ligue 1, the former Barcelona captain has averaged a team-high 0.73 assists per 90 minutes on the pitch. Meanwhile, Mbappe and Neymar's trebles made them the first Ligue 1 teammates to score hat-tricks in the same game since Mbappe and

Edinson Cavani

against Guingamp in January 2019. The previous squad to accomplish the feat was Bordeaux versus Valenciennes in August 1979.

Neymar was pleased with PSG's performance after hitting double figures in Ligue 1 goals this season and believes the relationship between the front three is strengthening with each encounter. "I'm overjoyed to have scored my first hat-trick of the season," stated Neymar.

"And [I'm] even more pleased with the victory and our demeanor. It's critical that the relationship between us improves with each match." It was only the 14th time this season that all three attackers began together in all competitions, prompting Mbappe to suggest it was "sad" that PSG fans had to wait until now to watch them play frequently together.

Neymar echoed this assessment, describing his attacking mates as "amazing. Unfortunately, everyone has just gotten to almost 100% at the end of the season," Neymar said, according to the official Ligue 1 website. "It's a pity, but I'm pleased with what we're doing on the pitch." It's a lot easier to play with highly intelligent players.

"Leo and Kylian are two geniuses," says the narrator. Mbappe (five), Neymar (five), and Messi (one) have scored PSG's last 11 Ligue 1 goals, and

's side is closing in on the French title. Meanwhile, Neymar has now scored against 24 of the 25 opponents he has played in Ligue 1, with the exception of Brest, and the treble was his first since scoring four goals against Dijon in January 2018.
