Man Utd & Barcelona sent support message to Louis van Gaal

The Dutch coach recently announced that he is fighting cancer.

Barcelona

sent messages of support to Louis van Gaal after the Dutch coach announced that he was fighting prostate cancer.

Van Gaal has coached at Old Trafford and Camp Nou, and both clubs wished good health to their former manager. He recently announced that he was receiving radiation treatment.

The 70-year-old has not spoken to his players about his illness and has prepared the

Netherland

for friendly matches in March against Denmark and Germany.

Van Gaal led Barcelona for two seasons and won two La Liga titles with the team, as well as the 2016 FA Cup with Manchester United.

Barcelona's statement reads:

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to former Barca manager Louis van Gaal, who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Stay strong, Louis, and get well soon."

Man Utd's statement reads:

"Everybody at Manchester United is fully behind our former manager, Louis van Gaal, in his battle against cancer. Sending you strength and courage, Louis "
