Saka tested positive with COVID-19 & withdrew from the England squad
After testing positive for coronavirus, Arsenal young star Bukayo Saka has been compelled to withdraw from the England team, with the Three Lions opting not to call up a substitute.
The 20-year-old joined the rest of the team at St George's Park at the beginning of the week and took part in a training session on Tuesday.
However, the
Gunnersstarlet began to feel poorly on Wednesday and had been distancing himself from the rest of the team in his room; while it was not first suspected that it was Covid, the winger has now returned a positive test and has been sent home.
A statement on Thursday evening confirmed:
"Bukayo Saka has left the
Englandcamp having tested positive for Covid-19.
‘The Arsenal player has been isolating from the rest of the squad at St. George’s Park since Wednesday and has now returned home."
