We don’t let anybody damage our name – Arteta

Arsenal boss hits back at ‘lies’ after Tottenham postponement.

With majority of

Arsenal

players absent due to injury, suspension or being out on international duty, the Gunners’ derby against

Tottenham

on Sunday was postponed.

Although Arsenal confirmed only one player had tested positive at the time they requested the postponement, the Premier League deemed that the Gunners did not have the required number of players at hand and called off the game.

Tottenham manger Antonio Conte was not pleased with the postponement and believed that the decision was

"very, very strange".

Although some accuse the north Londoners of exploiting the Premier League rules, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta hit back at the Gunners’ critics, saying they will stand up to defend themselves against the accusations.

"We're not going to let anybody damage our name or try to spread lies."

Arteta said.

"Whoever is saying we are trying to do something we are not, that's a lie. We have all the evidence we have to provide.

"You have to provide evidence individually, all the MRIs, all the COVID cases that you have, you have to put it on the table, you have to explain it, you have to answer more questions and you have to go again and do it. We've done all the right things."
