Buffon tested positive for coronavirus

The former captain of the Italian national team will not be able to accompany his team for a while.

With the announcement of Parma Club, the Covid-19 test of Gianluigi Buffon has been positive.

After the Christmas holidays and before returning to training, the entire

Parma

team underwent a PCR test, and Gianluigi Buffon has so far been the only player who tested positive for coronavirus.

The goalkeeper, who turns 44 later this month, is in quarantine at home and has no contact with the rest of the team. In fact,

Gianluigi Buffon

will have to go through this period and he will be tested again in the coming days.

Buffon has made 18 Serie B appearances for Parma this season, keeping a clean sheet in six games and blocking three penalties. He started his career at Parma's youth academy and made his Serie A debut at the age of 17, but returned to Tardini this season as a free agent after playing for

Juventus

and Paris Saint-Germain.

The Covid-19 crisis, like elsewhere in Europe, is affecting Italy, and there are concerns that some Serie A matches could be postponed.
