Ziyech left out of Morocco squad for AFCON

Chelsea are not going to be without Hakim Ziyech as the winger has been left out of Morocco squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.

winger

Hakim Ziyech

is nowhere to be found in the aforementioned list.

The 28-year-old fell out of Morocco boss Vahid Halilhodzic’s favor after entering into a quarrel with the Bosnian manager.

Claiming to be fed up with the player, Halilhodzic said in September:

“For the first time in my coaching career, I saw a national team player who doesn’t want to train and claims to be injured, although tests have shown he can play.

“I won’t tolerate it. Not this behavior as long as I coach Morocco."

Responding to his coach’s comments, Ziyech wrote on Instagram:

“Next time when you speak SPEAK THE TRUTH THEN...!”

Halilhodzic, however, stood by his words, saying the decision to drop the Blues’ winger was necessary.

“We tried to talk to him, but you have to draw the line somewhere. It's sad, it's a mess, but also a shame.”

the Morocco boss added.

The Atlas Lions are set to face Ghana in their first AFCON standoff on January 10.
