Milan’s Simon Kjaer out for six months following knee surgery
AC Milan have confirmed center-back Simon Kjaer will be out for six months following surgery on his left knee to fix the cruciate ligament injury.
The Danish defender picked up the injury during his side’s 3-0 victory over
Genoaon Wednesday and was stretchered off the pitch in the early phase of the game.

stated that he may have to hunt for a new defender in the transfer market in January to replace the Denmark international, who has been an integral part of the team since joining in January 2020.
The club has announced that the player underwent surgery today and that he will be away for six months.
“AC Milan announce that today, Simon Kjaer underwent arthroscopy in the left knee for the reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament and the re-insertion of the medial collateral ligament,”
the club wrote in a
statement.
“The operation, carried out at La Madonnina Clinic, was perfectly successful and was performed by Dr. Roberto Pozzoni with the help of the Galeazzi CTS (Centre for Sports Traumatology) team in the presence of the club’s health manager, Stefano Mazzoni.”
The official statement from the Rossoneri explained the center-back is doing ‘well and is motivated to start the rehabilitation process immediately’. But the club confirms the estimation of a six-month recovery time.
