Arsenal youngster rejected club's contract offer

The young English star intends to spend the next season in a team that has more opportunities for him to play.

Arsenal

striker Eddie Nketiah has turned down an offer to extend his contract and plans to leave the club at the end of the season.

Arsenal's 22-year-old striker's contract expires at the end of the season, and the youngster can negotiate freely with the clubs that want him from the beginning of January. According to Athletic, the player has rejected the latest offer to extend Arsenal's contract. It is rumored that Nketiah has not turned down the offer due to financial issues and is more interested in joining a club that has more playing opportunities.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has repeatedly stated that he would like Nketiah to stay with the Gunners, but Nketiah has not played a single game in this season's Premier League. A product of Arsenal's academy, he went on loan to

Leeds

in the first half of the 2019-2020 season and was able to play for Arsenal's main team in the second half of the season. The striker scored 6 goals in 29 games last season.

The young striker has not been able to compete in the league with

Aubameyang

and Lacazette this season and has only played in knockout competitions for the Gunners. Therefore, Nketiah wants to leave Arsenal for a team that has more playing opportunities, and that is why he has rejected the offer to extend the players' contract.
