Kepa finds it hard to be Chelsea's second goalkeeper

The young Spanish goalkeeper has lost his place at Chelsea.

Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga finds it difficult to become

Chelsea

's second goalkeeper.

Kepa joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao in 2018 and became the most expensive goalkeeper in history at the time, but failed to meet expectations and gradually fell and lost his place. His numerous mistakes under Frank Lampard's coaching caused him to be left out of the squad and Edouard Mendy to be in the goal, and then with his brilliant performance, there was virtually no room for Kepa inside the Chelsea goal. He was not included in

Spain

's squad for

Euro 2020

and now talks about the difficult days he went through during this period.

“It’s not easy when you’re not playing, everybody wants to play, but the best way I’m trying to do it is push every day hard,”

he said.

“Just push yourself every day in the training and be positive. I know sometimes it is not easy, but you have to be very strong mentally.

“When I have the opportunity, like in the cups, or like I did in the league against Tottenham, when I come in I do my best to take the opportunity and give everything to make the manager have a hard decision.”
