Arsenal star Ramsdale on joining in with “you’re sh*t, ahhh” chant

has talked about the reason behind him joining in with “you’re sh*t, ahhh” chant from
Leicesterfans during
Arsenal’s 2-0 win.
The Arsenal shot-stopper is becoming a cult hero for the club, as he has pulled off impressive displays and has a bubbly character off the field as well which endears him to a loyal fan base.
He features wearing a smile on his face and he likes to join in with banter from the stands as he feels relaxed and focused on what is important.
The 23-year-old talked about the taunts from Foxes followers by finishing off the chant they were singing: “
I just thought I’d go along with it! I’ve missed it over the course of Covid.
“I think it makes me play better, it makes me prove a point, it helps me prove someone wrong.
“It raises my concentration levels. If I’m giving a bit to them and I make a mistake I know I’m going to get absolutely slaughtered. I can’t let anything in if I’m giving them a bit of banter.”
Since joining the club from Sheffield United in the summer, the goalkeeper has been praised a lot.
He has earned himself a No.1 spot under the reign of
Mikel Arteta
quickly and may become a regular player in the future.

praising his abilities after his impressive save against Leicester:

After being hailed by a man who contributed to five Premier League titles as well a Champions League trophy, Ramsdale added:
“It’s like someone’s hacked his Twitter! It’s crazy and quite hard to explain.
“With Kasper being at the other end and Peter tweeting that, it was a special moment for me to see that when I came into the dressing room.”
When asked if he looks up to Schmeichel while learning his own trade, he responded:
“I’ll be totally honest, no!
“I knew all about him, I watched many, many highlights and save reel stuff on him. I wasn’t much of a Manchester United fan and when I was growing up and started goalkeeping I think he would’ve been retiring.”
Arsenal are enjoying a run of nine unbeaten games across all competitions and they will lock horns with Watford on Sunday.
