Arteta criticizes the referee after Crystal Palace match

The Spanish coach is not satisfied with the referee's decisions in last night's match.

Arsenal

boss Mikel Arteta has criticized the referee's decision not to dismiss James McArthur after his side's 2-2 draw with

Crystal Palace

.

The players managed to gain a point from their game last night with the last minute goal of Alexander Lacazette. While Arsenal were ahead at first, Patrick Viera's side were able to take a 2-1 lead, but the French striker eventually tied the game. However, a scuffle broke out in the middle of the game between MacArthur and Bukaya Saka when the referee fined the Crystal Palace player a yellow card, but Arteta believes the referee should have sent him off.

He told BBC Sport:

"It's a clear red card. [McArthur had] no intention to play the ball. I don't know how with VAR, he hasn't been sent off."

The Spanish manager added on his team's errors in defence:

"After the [opening] goal, we didn't manage the game well enough," he added. "We didn't have composure or control. It [the dip in performance] was for a long period, which is worrying.

"We started better in the second half. We had more control, and then we gave the ball away two times for the two goals.

"The most positive thing is we kept going. They kept believing until the end; that's how we managed to get a point."
