Raiola provides update on De Ligt's future
The Italian agent admits the Dutch defender might end up leaving Juventus next summer.
Since his transfer from Ajax in 2019,
Matthijs de Ligthas established himself as a key player in Juve’s backline. The Bianconeri were linked with a move for Milan’s
Alessio Romagnolithis summer but ultimately decided to continue with their current personnel in defense.
Many observers believe Juventus’ potential move for Romagnoli will affect De Ligt’s future at the club. The Dutchman’s agent
Mino Raiola
has spoken about his client’s future in a new interview.
“I think he and De Ligt are among the best defenders in Europe. De Ligt has a contract, while Romagnoli’s deal expires next year,”
Raiola told
Calciomercato.com.
“I think they could play together at Juventus next season, but pay attention because De Ligt could leave Juve at the end of the season. That’s how the market works, there are many clubs interested in signing him.”
Juventus have struggled to find their best form at the start of the current season. Having lost two of their first three matches of the new Serie A campaign, the Bianconeri will face Milan in their next league game on Sunday.
