The reason for Pjanic's departure from Barcelona finally revealed

Ronald Koeman's style differences with Pjanic led to the separation of the former Juventus midfielder.

The story of Miralem Pjanic and

Barca

ended, at least temporarily, and the Bosnian star left for Besiktas after a miserable season. Pjanic signed  for Barcelona for 60 million euros during the exchange process with Arthur Melo and was never able to repeat his good days in Juventus and Roma because he had no place in the ideas of Barca coach Ronald Koeman.

Finally, on Thursday night, it was confirmed that he would go to Turkish football on loan on a one-year contract to wear the Istanbul Eagles jersey. Pjanic has a contract with Barca until 2024, and interestingly, before joining Besiktas, he agreed to cut half of his € 8 million salary.

However,

Mundo Deportivo

claims that the reason Ronald Koeman did not choose Pjanic was more a matter of personality than quality. Koeman knew that Pjanic was a talented player, but he believed that his style of play was not suitable for his team and he considered him too defensive. From Koeman's point of view, his midfielder has to put pressure on the opposing players high up the pitch, even more than what Sergio Busquets does. As a result, Frenkie de Jong was preferred to Pjanic, and the Bosnian star was forced to leave Camp Nou.
