Willock joins Newcastle permanently

Joe Willock has signed a permanent deal with Newcastle after a loan spell.

Arsenal’s

midfielder

Joe Willock

who spent the second half of the 2020-21 season on loan at

Newcastle

, has been sold to them permanently with a deal that is reportedly worth £25million. The 21-year-old had impressive performances while he was playing for the Magpies, scoring eight goals in 14 Premier League appearances under Steve Bruce.

He was only getting better as he got closer to the end of the last campaign, scoring goals in successive appearances against Tottenham, West Ham, Liverpool, Leicester City, Manchester City, and Sheffield United, and now he is the youngest player in the Premier League’s history to score in six games in a row.

He even broke Alan Shearer’s record, who scored in seven consecutive games for Newcastle and had the club’s record, and the 21-year-old still has the chance to improve his record as he will begin another season with the club, and this time as their player.

Steve Bruce has been very interested in keeping the English midfielder, and he has revealed that the player has signed a long-term contract with the club that will run for the next six years; although he won’t be available for Newcastle’s first clash in the Premier League because he hasn’t signed the contract in time.
