Gerard Moreno signs new deal with Villarreal until 2027

Villarreal have confirmed they have signed a new contract with Gerard Moreno, which will keep the striker until the end of 2027.

The Spanish international put pen to paper to sign a new deal for the reigning Europa League champions following his return from Euro 2020.

’s previous contract ran until the end of June 2023 and there had been speculation that he could join one of LaLiga’s heavyweights but the 29-year-old committed his long-term future to the Yellow Submarine.

in 2010. Last season he scored 30 goals in 46 games and became the top scorer for the yellow submarine in the Europa League, playing a key role in winning the competition.

He scored the opener against

Manchester United

in his side's Europa League final victory, before finding the back of the net in the penalty shootout.

The 29-year-old has made 184 appearances for the Spanish club. Thanks to his great performance last season, he was called up by

Luis Enrique

to the Spanish national team for the European Championship.

Currently, Moreno is only one goal away from becoming Villarreal's top scorer in its history. With 82 goals on his account, he currently shares this honor with
