Tottenham starts the bidding race for Damsgaard with €25m
Damsgaard made 37 appearances last season during which he was able to score 2 goals and provide 4 assists. He also performed impressively in the Euro as he was able to score two games. The Danish starlet was the first one to score against England.
Being previously tracked by
Tottenham’s
first managing director of football,
Fabio
Paratici
, at Juventus, according to
Tutto Mercato Web, Tottenham have ‘accelerated’ their efforts to sign Damsgaard as they have submitted the €25m bid that Sampdoria was asking for Dane’s signature.
This means Spurs have ‘overtaken all rivals’ for the winger. The winger was previously linked with a move to
Liverpool, Juventus, Inter, and Everton.
In addition to the 21-year-old winger,
Tottenham
are also
closing on the signing of Sevilla winger Bryan Gilin a deal that would see Erik Lamela depart the London club for Sevilla. They would also have to pay €25m.
Promising winger
Gil
, who is playing at the Olympic Games in Tokyo with La Roja at the moment, came through Sevilla’s youth system before going on loan spells at Leganes and Eibar, impressing with his fleet-footed style and significant approach.
Although
Sampdoria’s
chairman,
Massimo Ferrero
, recently suggested
Damsgaard
could soon be worth €50m, the Italian club needs to make a sale this summer due to their financial struggles.
Earlier, the Serie A side’s sporting director, Carlo Osti, revealed in an interview with
Rai Sportthat they want Damsgaard to stay for another year.
“Everybody saw his qualities at the Euros and we are happy for that,” Osti said.
