Atletico Madrid in a stronger position than Barcelona in the swap deal

The negotiations between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona regarding a swap deal involving Antoine Griezmann and Saul is continuing but it is known that Atleti have the stronger position, as per reports from Marca.

Atletico Madrid

would be pleased to have a player like

Antoine Griezmann

in the squad even if it means he has to win the fans’ affection after abandoning them in 2019. However,

Barcelona

are the ones who are forced to see the deal happen as they are trying to reduce their wage cap and sell players to be able to sign with Lionel Messi.

The Bianconeri have asked for other players to be part of

Saul

’s deal, including Mario Hermoso, Renan Lodi and Joao Felix.

Los Rojiblancos, however, are not interested in selling more than Saul, and are not as pressured as Barca to make the deal happen.

The reason behind Saul being included in the deal in the first place was that the 26-year-old aimed to depart the club as he climbed down the pecking order last season.

Atletico are not dissatisfied with the player at all and are not in a hurry to cash in on him, but they will accept a good offer.

Exchanging players seem to b hard to execute as both parties and players need to reach an agreement for it to progress. Saul is also attracting attention from Premier League, so he has plenty of options.
