Italy & Argentina set to hold a tribute match for Diego Maradona

Following their respective victories in the European Championship and Copa America, Italy and Argentina prepare for a Diego Maradona memorial match.

The one-off game will be held in Napoli, as per a tweet from famous football writer Tariq Panja.

The match's preparations appear to be far advanced; however, no solid specifics are known at this time.

Given Argentina's victory against Brazil, Lionel Messi is clearly in the debate for the finest player to have ever played the match, and he would most likely lead the side against the Azzurri in Maradona's beloved Naples.

El Diego

was loved and worshiped in Napoli, despite never reaching the same heights as his countryman Messi.

If a match were to be organized, it would undoubtedly be trendy not only in the area but also across

Italy

and

Argentina

and among football fans in general.
