Mats Hummels delivers an update on his knee problem
Mats Hummels missed their training session two days ago due to a knee problem but he was able to train with the squad yesterday and is expected to be ready and fit for their match against Hungary tonight.
Borussia Dortmund and
Germanycenter-back
Mats Hummels
has talked about his knee injury that prevented him from training with the squad on Monday, according to
Bulinews.
The 32-year-old sat out of their training session two days ago but has been able to return yesterday and is expected to be ready for their match against Hungary tonight.
"I've been dealing with my knee for a while now,"
Hummels told reporters at a press conference on Tuesday.
He admitted that the pain might get worse sometimes and he might still miss a few training sessions but it should not have any impact on his performances and is just for managing the workload.
Hummels added:
“Fortunately, I have the best possible care available here and the doctors and physios are working hard on it. During the game, the pain gets worse sometimes, but it shouldn’t have an impact on my performances.
"I might sit out a few training sessions now and then, but that's just to manage the workload.”
Hummels has been able to start both of Germany’s
Euro 2020games against Portugal and France so far.
