Shevchenko's side claimed their first victory in Euro2020

With the victory, Shevchenko's team had a good chance to advance to the next round of the competition.

Ukraine

secured its first victory in their second match in the Euros to still have the chance of advancing to the next round.

Andriy Shevchenko's side, who lost 3-2 to the Netherlands in their first leg despite playing a great game, went to play against Northern Macedonia tonight and, with the brilliance of Yaromolenko, managed to defeat the team 2-1.

They were ahead with two goals from Andriy Yarmolenko and Roman Yaremchuk, but Northern Macedonia showed excellent fighting spirit until they finally got a penalty kick, and Ezgjan Alioski stood behind the ball. His shot was blocked initially, but he opened the opponent's goal on the ball's rebound.

However, the game continued under Macedonian pressure until the final moments, but Ukraine managed to keep its goal closed. At the game's final stage, Ukraine won a penalty kick, but the Macedonian goalkeeper thwarted them with a good reaction.

In the end, Ukraine won to have a good chance of advancing to the next round of the competition. Still, despite offering two good games against Austria and Ukraine, Northern Macedonia is on the verge of elimination with its second defeat. If the Netherlands avoids losing Austria, they will be eliminated from the competition.
