The Spanish midfielder spent the last season under the young coach's guidance at the Emirates Stadium.
Having left
Real Madridon a loan deal,
Dani Ceballosjoined
Arsenalin 2019. The Spaniard spent two seasons at Arsenal and worked under both
Unai Emery
and his successor
Mikel Arteta
. The 24-year-old will return to Santiago Bernabeu in the summer, where he will work with the club’s new coach
Carlo Ancelotti
. Despite Arteta’s lack of consistency throughout the season, Ceballos believes the young coach will soon establish himself as an elite manager.
"Arteta is a coach who has been with Guardiola for a few years.
"He is a coach who in a few years will be one of the best, but I would like to return to La Liga."
Caballos joined Real Madrid from
Real Betisin 2017. The Spaniard has featured in only 56 matches for the Blancos and wants game-time assurances ahead of his return to the Spanish club.
"I believe that this year I have hardened a lot as a player and I think now is the time to settle in a club with a long contract and be able to show my game,"
he added.
"Ancelotti has just arrived and we have to talk. I have never met him, but there are players who speak well of him. I'm sure that Madrid will be good.
"It is clear that the first thing is to talk to the coach and find out what he wants from me and also tell him what I want, which is to be important.
"I am not going to the European Championship and soon there will be a World Cup. It has to be a talk between the two with clear things."
Ceballos made 77 appearances for Arsenal during his two-year spell at the club. The Real Madrid loanee scored two goals and provided five assists as he won two domestic trophies with the Gunners.
