Jack Wilshere’s future at Bournemouth is up in the air

Jack Wilshere expressed his disappointment with Bournemouth’s inability to return to the Premier League and admitted that his future at the club is unclear.

Jack Wilshere

reunited with

Bournemouth

in January after he was released by West Ham at the end of the last summer’s transfer window.

Wilshere, 29, joined the Cherries in order to help them to get back to the

Premier League

. He was able to make 17 appearances during the second half of the season under the previous manager Jason Tindall and current boss Jonathan Woodgate and also was able to score in the games agent Birmingham City and Crawley Town.

However, the Cherries were defeated 3-2 on aggregate in the play-off semi-finals against Brentford and therefore failed to return to the Premier League which was their first attempt after their relegation last season.

Wilshere came off the bench for a short appearance in the 1-0 first-leg victory and was an unwed substitute in the reverse tie.

After their failed attempt to bounce back to the Premier League, Wilshere in an Instagram post expressed his disappointment with the club's inability to return to the top-flight and admitted that now his future at the club is up in the air.

He wrote:

"Thank you to everyone @officialafcb for the last five months. My teammates, All the staff, and especially the fans.

"You were amazing last time and continued to support me this time. Being honest, I don't know if this is the end. The coming weeks will tell.

"Unfortunately we didn't reach our goal of promotion but there is plenty of positives and experience to take into next year to get this club back where it belongs! Have a good summer.”

Although his career has been interrupted by successive injuries, he was able to remain fit for the duration of his second spell at Bournemouth.
