Liverpool can't afford to sign Kane - Fowler

Kane will leave Tottenham in summer and many clubs have plan to sign him.

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler believes the club may not be able to sign Harry Kane.

Kane, who has scored the most goals and assists in the Premier League this season, recently announced that he intends to leave Tottenham in the summer.

Many clubs across Europe are looking to sign the English striker. His presence at Liverpool can help the team a lot in scoring. Fowler now claims that Kane joining Anfield will be a special event, but it is unlikely that Liverpool will be able to afford such a transfer.

He told talkSPORT:

"Harry Kane is one of the outstanding players in the Premier League, he really is. I’m not surprised that there’s not going to be a shortage of clubs wanting to sign him.

"Whether clubs can afford him, I don’t know. You look at City and Manchester United, they could probably afford him. I’m not sure Liverpool have got the money to bring in a player of that ilk and a player of that price."
