De Laurentiis confirms Gattuso’s departure from Napoli

“Dear Rino, I am happy to have spent almost two seasons with you,"
De Laurentiis wrote on
Twitter.
"Thank you for your work and I wish you success wherever you go. A hug also to your wife and children."
Gattuso replaced
Carlo Ancelotti
as Napoli’s coach in December 2020. The former
AC Milanplayer delivered the club’s first piece of silverware in six seasons when he won the Coppa Italia seven months later. Gattuso’s team finished the 2019-20 campaign in seventh place on the league table. Despite collecting 15 more points this season, the Italian coach was sacked due to his failure in securing a top-four finish.
