Ibra misses Euro 2020 due to injury

Sweden head coach confirms that Ibrahimovic will miss Euro 2020 due to a knee injury.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

, who had a dramatic return to the

Sweden national team

in the 2022 World Cup qualifications, will miss his team’s games in the Euro 2020, according to Sweden’s head coach Janne Andersson.

Milan’s experienced striker is facing a knee injury that will end his hopes for participation in his national team’s games in the Euro 2020 as it takes six weeks to recover from it.

"I spoke to Zlatan Ibrahimovic today, who unfortunately told me his injury will prevent his participation in the European Championship this summer,”

said Andersson

.

"Of course, it is sad, especially for Zlatan, but for us too. I hope that he is back on the pitch again as soon as possible."

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was enjoying an excellent campaign at Milan after his return to European football, missed the remaining of the season because of this knee injury in a situation that he had scored 15 goals for Milan in the Serie A and his goal ratio was 99.87 minutes per goal.

Sweden will play in group E alongside Spain, Poland, and Slovakia, which makes it a hard job for them to advance from the group stage. They will play their first game against Spain on June 14.
