Maguire a potential fitness doubt for Man Utd's Europa League final

Manchester United wait to see how much damage captain Maguire picked in Sunday's 3-1 comeback win against Aston Villa.

For the tenth time this season,

Manchester United

completed a comeback and defeated

Aston Villa

3-1. But in the 78th minute, Harry Maguire was clearly injured after a challenge with Anwar El Ghazi and left the field. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is waiting to see the extent of the injury to the lower leg injury.

"

Hopefully that [the final] will be okay with Harry,"

Solskjaer said. "

I don't know. We need to check it. It might be a few weeks or a month - we don't know

.

"It was his calf or lower leg. I think the player landed on him and he twisted something."

However, the Red Devils boss explained that the injury might not be too serious as he waits to learn of the damage.

"

I don't know how serious it is. He might be available on Tuesday, he might not

," he added.

The captain Maguire joined Man Utd from Leicester City in July 2019, and he had played every minute in the Premier League since then. His run of 71 matches in series means he only equaled Gary Pallister for an outfield United player in the contest.

"

Harry has been excellent and it's almost unheard of, the minutes he's played,

" Solskjaer said.

"His fitness is very good – he's robust. But, today, it looked like the boy landed on him and he twisted his ankle."
