thinks that joining Atalanta from Juventus was his best choice and that Gian Piero Gasperini has a big part in his improvements since his arrival.
Romero took part in his side’s 5-0 victory against Bologna as they washed the bad memory of their midweek draw against Roma, and the player thinks that his side must continue such kind of performances.
“Bologna started well and I remember they had two good chances, but we had a great game overall and must continue like this,”
the defender told Sky Sport Italia
.
“There are five games left and if we play like this, we will certainly achieve our objective. Our target is to qualify for the Champions League, then obviously second would be nice, but that’s not the main issue.”
Romero has also talked about his move from Juve, which was completed with a loan contract with buying option insisting that it was a good choice.
“I’ve always said Gasperini is a great coach who is helping me grow so much. It was the best choice to come here and join Atalanta, I knew many players who loved it here and I listen to all his advice. I know there are many areas where I still need to improve.
“My agent is talking to the club. I am concentrated on the remaining games and then we’ll see.”
Gasperini’s men sit in second place in the Serie A table, and they will keep their spot if Milan doesn’t defeat Lazio.
