Fredi Bobic is set to be the managing director of sport in Hertha

Hertha BSC have officially announced that Fredi Bobic will start managing director for sport from the 1st of June, replacing Michael Preetz, who was dismissed of his duties in January.

Earlier today, it was approved that Bobic's deal as

Eintracht Frankfurt

sporting CEO will be concluded this summer, which would make it possible for him to join Hertha.

"We are delighted to have brought in our desired candidate, Fredi Bobic, and we are looking forward to a successful working relationship in the future,”

Hertha president, Werner Gegenbauer announced.

Fredi Bobic, who used to play for Hertha as a striker, explained:

"After making the decision to seek a new challenge, there were open and convincing talks with Hertha BSC and especially the president, Werner Gegenbauer. I am looking forward to being part of the Hertha family again, starting this summer."
